Description
Chronicles the life of Laura and her family on their Homestead claim after the hard winter of 1881. Her older sister Mary, who is blind, goes to college. Laura and her younger sister Carrie are students in the schoolhouse. Laura is almost 15 years old and continues to study for her teaching certificate. They go to parties and fun gatherings in the town, and attend a summer celebration on Fourth of July.
